Guys will do anything to get the attention of the girls they like. In fact, it often seems as if they forget the whole idea of self-preservation and dignity when it comes to their romantic pursuits. Unfortunately, this backfires pretty frequently. This is especially true if they do any of the following epic dating fails:
1. Fake Compliments
Compliments, when poured in the right way, can make or break a person’s day. In fact, it’s the best way to get anyone’s attention. So, when a man wants to impress a woman they wouldn’t mind showering her with praises like, “I think you are the most amazing person I have ever met. Where were you before?” or “Your smile means the world to me, honey!” While a few may mean it earnestly, others may be just saying the words to impress the woman. When it comes to faking, people don’t just stop at compliments. It can be emotions, lifestyle or even their attitude.
2. Flashing Cash
This is the most obvious way a guy will try to impress a girl. When a guy flashes cash, the best he can hope for is a gold digger. If the girl isn’t into money, she’ll most likely feel cheap and assume that he has nothing going for him aside from a fat bank account. Either way, it’s not good for the guy.
3. Fake likes and dislikes
Before you thank your stars for meeting a man whose likes and dislikes are completely similar to yours, give it a second thought. Many men fake about their areas of interest to surprise their dates and in turn, earn their rapt attention. If you have a keen interest in animal welfare, history, art, reading and so does he, ask him a few more questions on these subjects and it would clear all your doubts.
4. Saying they are feminist
There are definitely male feminists out there, but typically, the ones wearing “FEMINIST” shirts on Tinder and asking for nudes don’t qualify for that title. It’s a cheap trick that they hope lures women who are passionate about equal rights to their beds.
5. Talking about their ex relationships
Some men like to project themselves as ‘ideal boyfriends’ by blaming their ex-girlfriend or the circumstances for their failed relationships. They paint a gloomy picture of their past and try to gain sympathy. Well, things could have gone haywire in their past but was he as innocent as he sounds? Doing a little background check won’t be a bad idea.
6. Pretending to be smarter than he actually is
Girls who don’t know what he’s talking about will get bored and annoyed at what a pompous ass he’s being if he does this. Should he make the mistake of doing this in front of a girl who does know the subject at hand, we’ll see right through the charade and most likely put him in his place.
7. His love for girl’s friends
f even he hates the sight of your close friends for some reason, he might put up a fake smile and string a few words together to praise them. But why, boy? You are interested in the girl and not in her entire friend circle. It is the best to be honest about this issue and happily maintain a distance from her friends if you aren’t very fond of them.
8. Doing insane physical stunts
This is one of the most common topics men fake about. A lot of men believe that fitness is a test of their muscularity, and when they don’t have it, they simply fake it. If a men brags about how he can do 40 push-ups in a minute, lift tons of weights with ease or run on treadmill for an hour, take his words with a pinch of salt.
9. Refusing to open about his feelings
If he’s doing this, he’s doing the whole “strong, silent type” thing wrong. Girls are impressed by sensitivity. Tell us how you feel, already, dudes.
If a guy ever wants a serious relationship with a girl, stalking them will destroy that chance. In fact, he might end up with a good ol’ fashioned restraining order if he tries it.
