11 Easy Tips to Bring Out Your Inner Hero and Reach The Goal

Your life is a gift. You being here is a miracle. Every day is a fresh start.

We all have a little, or big hero, inside of us. How many times have you wanted to do or say something that would have probably been considered heroic but you kept it tucked deep inside out of fear? I know that probably sounds a tad contradictory but think about it. You’ve got this hero trapped inside of you, you feel it often, but you never unleash it because you’re just not so sure about him/her. What will people think or say?

Truth is, every great man holds within him the heart of a warrior, but first he has to awaken it. But our warrior hearts are covered up, forgotten, and neglected. Though, those desires of the heart sleep soundly within us all, we must shout out the cries of battle to reawaken the callings of our hearts.

1. Discover who you are.

What lights you up? What are your strengths? What makes you unique? What are you passionate about? You were born with a unique soul essence and there will never again be anyone like you. You were born for a reason. Don’t let others define you. That means your boss, family members and friends. Even nice people can wrongly define you if you don’t know who you are. Figure out who you are and define yourself.

2. Don’t compare yourself to other.

Comparison is the thief of joy. We typically compare the worst we know of ourselves to the best we presume about others. We all are on our own journey and have our own inner talents, drives and motivations. Comparing ourselves to others can only limit our potential dampen your fire and leave you feeling discouraged and unworthy. Your gifts and talents and successes and contributions and value are entirely unique to you and your purpose in this world. They can never be properly compared to anyone else.

3. Let go of what others think of you.

One of the biggest problems many of us face today are the opinions and perceptions others have about us. Constantly living our lives according to how others will perceive us holds us back from experiencing true freedom, as well as recognizing and maximizing our full potential and being ourselves. You don’t need anyone’s approval, follow your heart and enjoy the journey. Most people aren’t as interested in our actions, appearance and thoughts as we think. Let them do their thing, and get on about the business of doing yours because truthfully, “those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter, don’t mind” what you do, as long as you are being true to yourself.

4. Focus on your journey not results

One of the best ways to maintain an optimistic view of yourself and your path is to focus on the fact that you have a path. The truth is, we live in a results-obsessed world where people often use their ends to justify their means, this can lead to all sorts of bad outcomes. Instead of focusing exclusively on the results, focus on your journey. We are all people in process. None of us stands still. We are always moving towards something and when we take the time to remember that, it helps us accept the parts of ourselves that we want to develop further.

5. Upgrade your habits.

Your time and energy are two of your most important assets. Most people drain all of their energy on random things like social media scrolling in bed, worrying about what others think, complaining and watching television, and then they wonder why they don’t have zest for life or the time and energy to do all the things that truly matter to them. Upgrade your habits, and you will automatically upgrade your life.

6. Turn your weaknesses into strengths.

Let’s face it. We sometimes choose to take the easy the way out. At times, we make excuses to avoid things because we feel that we “just aren’t good enough”. But here’s the thing: you’re only as good as you perceive yourself to be. So instead of putting the spotlight on your weaknesses, why not work on turning them into strengths? Once you focus on turning your weaknesses into strengths, your biggest priority would be to learn from your mistakes and figure out how you can ultimately improve by 1% every day – so that you eventually become the best person you can be.

7. Give yourself credit.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s waking up an hour earlier to go for a morning run, or finishing that super challenging project you’ve been working on all week – these victories are worth celebrating. In fact, all your victories should be celebrated. After all, these small victories are the ones that would ultimately bring you to your destination. When you learn to embrace these mini achievements, you would enjoy every moment that life brings; and the best part is that you would learn to be more optimistic. Hence, you would be a much happier person!

8. Always strive to be better than you were yesterday.

If you truly want to unleash your inner warrior, then you must be prepared to give your 100% to everything you do. After all, doing something half-heartedly is as good as not doing it at all – because there’s no shortcut to success. So if you want to achieve your goals and turn those dreams into reality, then it’s time to hustle! It helps to set goals so that you would stay motivated and of course, work towards being better than you were yesterday. When this happens, you would push and go beyond all kinds of limits – and end up being in a better place than you were previously.

9. Keep an open heart for love.

The shear feeling of love within a man’s heart can unlock parts of him that previously felt nonexistent. Love has its way with us, and it reveals things we never knew we were capable of, like a drive to protect others. A hero can be completely driven by love. It can be your cause to fight and defend. Sometimes, that’s all it takes to reawaken our warrior hearts—love is felt in the heart, after all.

10. Set realistic goals and expectations.

It is so easy to put unrealistic expectations on ourselves. There is only so much time in the day and so much energy one can give to a particular job or person. We think we can conquer it all and we can but only if we are realistic with how and when we accomplish each task. Creating a To Do List and prioritizing your goals can be helpful in successfully achieving every expectation you put on yourself. Rather than trying to conquer the world over night, aim to conquer it one realistic step at a time.

11. Be the CEO of your life.

Stop waiting for someone to save you. You are responsible for your life, which means only you have the power to change it. You are 100% responsible for your life; its happiness; its wealth and health. You choose the Executive Officers, also known as the people who will support and help you the best way they can throughout your life. It does not matter if you think you play a ‘small’ part in any situation because, we all have to start somewhere. It is from that place that we create a ripple effect surpassing anything imaginable. Be your own hero.
