Karan Mehra, popularly known as Naitik from ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, recently declared he was quitting his eight-year long show. But in no time, he changed his mind. Whether Karan was given a raise or a promise that his role would be made meatier in the near future is still unclear, but this is not new to tellyland. A number of actors in recent times have announced their decision to opt out, only to quietly return to the set and act as if nothing happened.
In May 2014, news of Dipika quitting the show started doing the rounds. She said she was unhappy with her track. Some actresses were even shortlisted to play her character. But within two weeks, Dipika was back. Along with a monetary hike, her role too underwent a change.
There have been constant reports about the actress wanting to quit the show after her track was given lesser prominence. This happened after Shritama Mukherjee entered the show. Despite rumors, Jasmin continues to be a part of the cast. We hear the makers have promised to make her role better soon.
