Bollywood is no place to keep secrets. The more celebrities hide their “private affairs”, the more they get discussed. A couple that has been trapped in the gossip columns for long is, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Their off-screen equation is so good that it can give any Bollywood couple a serious relationship complex. And not only off-screen, they created quite a buzz on-screen (and at the box office) as well with ‘Ram-Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

So, we decided to bring to you Ranveer and Deepika’s off-screen love story!

Ranveer Singh, who was shooting in Paris for Aditya Chopra’s Befikre, landed in Mumbai late last night. The actor, dressed in a military print track-suit, was greeted by media persons at the airport and was bombarded with questions about his plans to marry his alleged girlfriend and Bollywood star Deepika Padukone.

Recently there were reports that the lovebirds have decided to marry sometime in 2017. When asked about this, the actor dodged the questions and coolly expressed surprise over the buzz about their marriage and said that he hasn’t even completed his sleep on the flight.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have often been spotted cozying up to each other at parties. The two are extremely fond of each other and never shy away from praising one another.

In 2013, Ranveer Singh was diagnosed with dengue, following which he was admitted to a hospital for 2 weeks. After he was discharged, he said in an interview with a daily that he was love-struck and down with ‘Loveria’.

During the same time, the Singh lad surprised us all as he got talking about his love life. He told The Times of India, “It’s good. It’s rocking. I love being in love. It’s the best feeling in the world. I have never felt like this before.”

While Ranveer was happy confessing his love for the ‘mystery’ woman (which we assume is Deepika), the ‘Ram-Leela’ lass told NDTV, “It’s part of the territory, you have to accept it that as public figures your life is public too, you cannot get upset and you have to take it in your stride.”

Mixed signals? So we dug deeper and found Deepika gushing at the mere mention of Ranveer. When asked by the Hindustan Times if she was irked by Ranveer’s infamous ‘loveria’ comment, she said, “No, it’s amazing, the way he is. He is so unique. And I think what I admire about him is that he is so unapologetic about the way he is.” Ahem, ahem!

At the same event, Ranveer managed to stoke the fire when asked if Deepika ever mistakenly addressed him as ‘Ranbir’. “No, she hasn’t. I would be mortified if she did that, ever!” he said.

On or off-screen, it is difficult to look past their scorching chemistry. But the pair has been dismissing all speculation about their alleged affair. And yet, during the ‘Ram Leela’ promotions, the two looked pretty much like they were an item.

Ranveer even embraced death to be close to Deepika? Yes, you read it right! Ranveer chose to play the role of Deepika’s dead husband in ‘Finding Fanny’. What’s more? Even though it was just half-a-day’s work, Ranveer stayed back for over a week even after his shoot was complete.

Deepika once again visited her alleged beau, Ranveer, in Istanbul to surprise him on his 29th birthday (on July 6, 2014). As per a report by a leading daily, one of the actors from ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, spilled the beans and revealed, “Ranveer was shooting with us in Istanbul.

As per various media reports, Ranveer and Deepika were spotted ringing in New Year 2015 together in Maldives. The reports stated that Deepika was in Maldives with her family for Christmas and Ranveer later joined her there.

After celebrating New Year together in Maldives, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ co-stars reportedly headed out for New York for Deepika’s 29th birthday celebrations.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone made quite a noise at IIFA 2015 with their cuteness quotient. During the main award ceremony, Ranveer went down on his knees for Deepika on stage. Even Bollywood insider Miss Malini, who was present at the event, tweeted an interesting tidbit from the same event as she wrote, “Awww @RanveerOfficial just passed @deepikapadukone in the front row and said cutely “someone in the audience is very distracting!” #MMatIIFA”

Deepika and Ranveer celebrated the latter’s 30th birthday (in July, 2015) together in London. They were spotted on the streets of London, and they even obliged their fans with selfies (separately, though!).

Ranveer is definitely known for big gestures, especially when it comes to his alleged ladylove. As per a report in Mid-Day, on July 20, 2015, Ranveer went to the Mumbai International airport to receive Deepika with a large bouquet of pink flowers. What’s more? He patiently waited in his car for three hours for Deepika’s flight to land. And, his efforts were definitely worthwhile because as per the bystanders, Deepika’s face lit up when she saw Ranveer waiting for her outside.

Ranveer and Deepika have often been snapped indulging in PDA! From being snapped together in cozy poses at parties to being spotted indulging in goodbye kisses at airport, the couple surely have a connection that makes friendship look pale! In October 2015, Ranveer and Deepika were spotted indulging in PDA at the Mumbai airport. As Ranveer walked Deepika to her car, Deepika planted a kiss on the actor’s cheeks (and no, it wasn’t one of those flying-socialite-kisses!). 

If inside reports are to be believed the couple will soon be making things official in 2016. In a report published in a leading daily, a director, who is quite close to both Ranveer and Deepika revealed, “They are very serious about one another. When they are in public, they pretend to be just friends. But away from prying eyes they don’t care to hide their feelings for one another. When it began, neither of them realised how serious they would get about each other.”

In Befikre, Ranveer has been paired opposite Vaani Kapoor, who was last seen in Shuddh Desi Romance along with Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra. Befikre is slated to release on December 9.
