RJ Naved has always been vocal about his opinions about rape, sexual harassment, abuse, girl child abortions and the rape culture of India. His monologue on aborting a fictional girl child became viral and drew our attention to the more serious issues plaguing our country and its people.
Rape has become a common affair in our society; every now and then, we hear news about young girls being raped and murdered. Recently, we were shocked to hear about Asifa’s rape case. Eight-year-old Asifa Bano had been raped, strangled with her own scarf and bashed in the skull with a rock. A 10-year-old girl has been raped and killed during a wedding function in a village in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. Police said the 25-year-old accused, who has been arrested, admitted to have raped and killed the child by smashing her head with a stone. The whole nation is talking about this case and are seeking a solution to stop such things. India is sliding toward a collapse of humanity and ethics in political and civic life. But when it will end and how?

The clip instantly became viral and choked us because it wasn’t just Naved talking to the lawyer. There were young girls, with little ability to speak, asking questions on how to save themselves, speak up and recognise rape.
